Introduction
The year is 2025.
Freedom of speech is all but free. Social platforms and media are controlled by the rich elite. The education system has been modified to indoctrinate society into one thought and one vision as a collective whole via the Voucher based reward system. Creative thinking is ostracized and those who speak out publicly are disappeared, suicided, or sent to re-education camps. Foreign aircraft that are maneuvering in impossible trajectories are seen to roam the skies frequently but we’re told these are experimental military craft. These unidentified flying aircraft are spotted so frequently it’s become an online meme that can’t be ignored but again, no one dares to speak the word of “Alien’s” or they too are dealt with accordingly. History has been re-written to immortalize conglomerates and their founders as saviors to society which further increases their monopolistic grasp over markets and constricts market competitors by driving small and medium sized businesses to the brink of bankruptcy. We used to think that regulation and blindly trusting our governments to protect the people was in our best interest, but this has resulted in the average citizen being regulated out of their freedom, rights, and some, their lives. Freedom, in general, is something that people have forgotten.
If you were unable to buy your way into the elite class by 2023, it is near impossible now. The supply chain scare of the early 2020’s, has made working for a wage a luxury benefit only the privileged can enjoy. Sovereign fiat currencies have become near worthless due to excessive inflationary monetary policies lining the pockets of the wealthy and elite, while the average citizen unknowingly passed legislation in favor of focusing on social policies. While we were fighting and divided as a people over having minority leaders, increasing minimum wage, and universal basic income, the elites were removing our rights, consolidating the global wealth, buying out competitors, and silencing those trying to speak out. Infighting against ourselves allowed the rich elite to mask their agenda into what we believed to be our cause, digging ourselves into this quicksand. By the time we tried to react, it was too late. We the people won small battles but lost the war. The only social classes now, are the rich and the indentured.
But hope is not all lost, though stupidity and weakness has nearly driven the population into an almost indentured type of servitude class based society. A glimmer of hope we cling to is that the majority of the world, including the elite have migrated to public blockchains like Bitcoin to transact in their sovereign international trade. Settlement for trade is handled by Bitcoin, while normal day to day transactions are transacted using other faster public blockchains such as Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. The transition to blockchain was out of necessity as the previous financial system was on the brink of collapse but this has led to many problems for the controlling elite class as blockchain technology and decentralization continues to grow. While our physical world continues to head towards a dystopian caste based society, our digital world continues to innovate and expand more freely. There are many groups within the elite that seem to be pushing the movement of hope and freedom through blockchain, with a small group known as the Rangers. Rangers have been utilizing pseudonymity and anonymity of blockchain to not only properly document the past from this facade of a history we’re being fed, but also to educate society to fill the gap of what we know as “education” aka brainwashing. There are other groups that have been furthering the freedom movement as well such as the Bitcoin Maximalist known as “Maxis” and Ethereum Maximalists known as “ETH Heads” but those movements are also heavily co-opted by the elite due to the price of both assets. The XRP Army and Link Marines also are still around but with little to no community focused leadership or direction as both groups tend to be centered around price and not utility. Surprisingly, Doge is going strong and still memeing itself into surviving this societal shift.
The Rangers however have created a DAO and built the foundation of what we now call “The Library” within this DAO. The Library is an online immutable collection of information distributed via educational videos, images, and audio based NFTs. These NFTs document step by step processes to learn languages, skilled trades, creative art, writing, and history dating back to 1000 years before what Ranger history is calling the period leading up to this era, “The Great Divide”. All of the information is available for self learning which The Rangers believe removes bias from the teacher as this was one of the major issues leading up to The Great Divide. Although we don’t have teachers and classrooms to walk us through materials anymore, there are public community groups online where we can meet others who are interested in learning more about the same topics. Nobody uses their real names online to avoid being tracked by the government elite.
As jobs are few and far between, most of us spend our time online. We complete our daily tasks provided by the government as part of our education curriculum and are awarded Vouchers. These tasks consist of various image based identifications that you would typically see in legacy ReCaptcha verification applications as well as various other tasks that help improve the government ability to document and track our footprint. The Vouchers are used to pay for food and housing which is what everyone works towards to survive. We also get a weekly stipend of Vouchers as part of the Universal Basic Housing and Food initiative we fought for, but because there are no jobs available that pay wages, we are reliant on these Vouchers from the government. Free time is spent by most playing games and almost all games are now PTE with earnings going towards buying Vouchers off the black market. If you’re lucky enough to earn a bit more, you can also buy Bitcoin if you have enough Voucher quota. Few are able to do this.
Ranger library material on Philosophy has documented that humans will always act in their own self interest and is one of the core reasons why the foundations of The Library were modeled off of PTE now called LTE or Learn To Earn. Although most prefer to play games, there is a growing group of curious individuals who spend time learning history and various other trades. They are continuously incentivized to do so via the LTE mechanism where there are simple quizzes scheduled at various checkpoints through different collections of topics. It’s free to learn but where you make your tokens is on the quizzes. You aren’t able to advance through courses if you don’t pass the quizzes. If you pass a quiz you are paid in Ranger tokens. Ranger tokens are typically hoarded as Ranger Tests are expensive to take and not free like the quizzes. Although the rewards for completing Ranger Tests are lucrative, they are designed to pass less than 5% of participants. If more than 5% pass a certain test within a cycle, the test is scrapped, redesigned, and re-launched. Lastly, there’s the Ranger Exam which is free to participate in but near impossible to qualify for as you need to meet the requirement of having passed 10 Ranger Tests. Passing the Ranger Exam not only awards you with the honorary title of “Ranger” but also vast amounts of Tokens worth more than a Bitcoin, and you get a special physical license that can be used to redeem food, free travel and lodging. The physical license itself is backed by the authentic NFT Ranger license which is a unique 1/1 tied to your physical license. In order to prove ownership, you must have both physical and NFT license in your possession making it extremely difficult to steal and impossible to forge.
The year is now 2043.
Things seem to be getting better from post “The Great Divide”. The Ranger movement has become the dominant force driving change and is the leading Freedom movement. Businesses have found a way to incorporate tokenomics into the real world in a faster and more innovative way than major corporations due to their internal bureaucracy. This has removed the stranglehold grip that was previously destroying small and medium businesses. Regulation has not been effective at controlling decentralized blockchains because of how intertwined nation states are also utilizing them. More interestingly, the people as a whole don’t seem to be fighting each other and have entered into a new era of exploration and creativity.
The Ranger movement has not only helped significantly educate a large portion of the population, but the larger the community grows, the more incentivized people are to educate themselves due to the growing network effect around tokenomics. Small community led groups have begun to form, starting their own decentralized projects to further the The Ranger DAO movement with new tests. The largest of these groups have been started by Rangers which number into the hundreds now. A particularly well known Ranger by the name of Ace has blown the lid on these Unidentified Flying Aircraft (Objects), and not only communicated with what we call Aliens, but he brokered a monumental deal with multiple Alien races to exchange information/technology and allow them to cohabitate our planet together.
This exchange seemed to incorporate Bitcoin and other tokens to allow them to conduct trade on our planet. Ace also started the very first Spaceport where Humans and Aliens can document their entry to and exit from Earth and co-built this Spaceport with one of the Aliens! This has obviously led to acknowledgement that we are not the only lifeform in the solar system and also has greatly accelerated our technological travel, energy sustainability, and communication. Times are scary knowing we aren’t alone, but I think it’s this fact that there’s so much more out there that we don’t know that makes this life so interesting.
My name is Rain. I am 12 years old and what we call a Baby Ranger. One that aspires to passing the Ranger Exam and become a full fledged Ranger. My goal is to be on the forefront of innovation, discovery, and work towards preserving history. But really, what I want to do is meet my brother. His name is Ace and he is a Ranger.
